NEXT STEPS REVIEW

(10-15 minutes)

Have each person share a brief report about the Next Step they took from last week: deepening and developing one rhythm from each of the three relationships. Use the group journal for memory if needed.

DISCIPLE-MAKING & MISSION

(12-15 Minutes)

Before you begin, ask if there are any insights anyone would like to share from their time meditating on 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 this past week.

Read: Hebrews 10:23-25

1.  What does the author mean when he writes, “spur one another on toward love and good deeds”?(NIV) What metaphor is used here?

2.  Why would the author use the “spur” metaphor to describe this process of helping each other? Don’t spurs hurt?

3. How can this study of the Three Relationships spur us on to love and good deeds?

BONUS QUESTION: What is the mission statement of our church and how do we spur one another on in our mission?

USING A TOOL

(45-60 Minutes)

This week we will be using the Three Relationships Group Scoring tool to gauge where we are as a group.

  1. Have one person go online to the Group Scoring page. Here they will record the scores of each person in the group.  The scoring tool will do all the work and give you a group score.
  2. Once the group score has been tallied, have a discussion on what areas the group is generally weak versus strong. Here are some sample questions:
    • What surprises you about the results?
    • Which Relationship is highest for the group and why do you suppose that is?
    • Which relationship was lowest for the group? Why do you think that is?
    • Which rhythms were highest and lowest as a group? What are your thoughts on why that is?
  3. Point out the lowest rhythm for the group in each of the Three Relationships.

READ THIS TO THE GROUP: Over the next three weeks, we will be studying our lowest rhythms as a group. Next week we will study our lowest God Rhythm, the following week our lowest Church Rhythm and the last week our lowest in the World rhythm. Online, there are studies for all 15 of the Rhythms. For next week, please complete the study for the God Rhythm (————Your group’s lowest God Rhythm here———). We will discuss it together next week. Feel free to print out the study if you wish.

NEXT STEPS

(15-20 Minutes)

Journal as a group. Give each person 30-90 seconds to share praises about what the Lord is doing through this series so far in their lives.

HOMEWORK

Meditate. Throughout the week meditate on Hebrews 10:23-25. Consider memorizing verse 24.

Pray: Ask the Lord to grow the group this week in their relationship with God.

Next Step: Go to the Rhythm Studies page and download and/or print the God Rhythm study your group picked and do that study this week. Come prepared to share what you discovered with the group.
